On Monday, the 10th of October we took an in depth look into different types of studio lighting. I've never done any sort of studio work at all. In fact, I've never even used a flash before! Coming from what I see as a more 'fine art' style, based almost totally around landscapes and the natural world I felt very out of my depth at first. But the workshop was great! I gained a wealth of information on different lighting set ups, a very brief demonstration of the set ups I used can be seen below.
Side Lighting
Broad Lighting
Short Lighting
Rembrandt
Hollywood
Rim lighting
High key
There were of course many more shots, and a few we were unable to demonstrate due to time constraints (low key, kicker). However I believe this shows my newly found understanding of the basic studio light techniques. Oh, and please overlook the strange faces I seem to be pulling in one or two of the photos!
